Terms of Service

1. What this service is

Mass Rename ("the Service") is a browser-based tool that renames files according to a mapping table you supply as CSV or XLSX. The Service is delivered as static files; all parsing, matching, previewing and packaging runs inside your own browser. We do not receive your files, your filenames, or your spreadsheet contents.

The Service is operated by [LEGAL NAME — TO BE FILLED IN BEFORE LAUNCH], an individual seller ("we", "us"). Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake as merchant of record.

2. Price and billing

The lifetime licence costs USD $19 and is a one-time payment. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and no automatic renewal. The free tier costs nothing and does not expire. Prices are shown in USD; checkout may display a local-currency equivalent, and your payment card issuer may apply a currency conversion margin.

Because there is no subscription, there is nothing to cancel and no auto-renewal to disclose. If we ever introduce a subscription product it will be labelled clearly at checkout, with its own terms, cancellation instructions inside the site, and advance notice before any charge.

3. Refunds and cancellation

Refunds are governed by the refund policy: email us within 30 days of purchase and we refund in full. Card refunds are typically visible within 3–10 business days. This policy is also shown at checkout.

EU / UK / AU consumers: you have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital-content purchase within 14 days. By starting to use the tool after purchase, you request immediate supply and acknowledge that the withdrawal right is preserved until first use and waived upon first use of the licensed features. This does not affect the 30-day refund above, which we honour regardless.

4. Licence grant

A purchased licence grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service on any number of devices you personally control, for unlimited files, for as long as the Service is operated. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute licence keys, or operate the Service as a paid service to third parties.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• rename, process or distribute files you do not have the right to process;
• circumvent the free-tier limit by automated means, or attack, overload or reverse-engineer the licence check in a way that harms other users;
• break any applicable law, including data-protection and export-control law;
• infringe intellectual-property rights, or remove ownership notices from files you do not own.

We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are materially breached. Because there is no account, suspension in practice means blocking licence keys that we can show were obtained fraudulently.

6. Your files remain yours

We claim no rights over your files or your spreadsheet. We never receive them. Any output you produce (renamed files, ZIP archives, CSV reports) belongs to you.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, improve or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will make the tool available as a downloadable offline copy for at least 12 months, or refund purchases made in the preceding 12 months.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Always keep a backup of your files before renaming them. Renaming is a filesystem operation and the preview exists precisely so you can review it first. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, for lost data, or for lost profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or USD $19 if you are on the free tier).

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Third parties

Payments: Waffo Pancake (merchant of record). Hosting and CDN: Cloudflare. The site loads no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. Libraries used for parsing and packaging (SheetJS, fflate) run locally in your browser and transmit nothing.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION — TO BE FILLED IN BEFORE LAUNCH], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence continue to apply.
